a big beautiful orange butterfly on my daughter's hand, it was very tame...
I believed this big cockroach was made of rubber
i love fall because of the colors...

We went to the event called "THE GREAT INSECT FAIR" it was very crowded. We did not get the chanced of roaming the whole palace because our baby was getting so fuzzy and my hubby is not a fan of a big crowd. :( But, still we had the fun being in that event. We saw enough insects. There were more though. It was really worth going.

Family Fridays: Two Kids Are Better Than One

Getting ready to leave the hospital and go home for the very first time

Collage photos of my beautiful kids taken during the summer 2012 and fall

checking out the birthday card that he received from his Aunt, big sister was reading it for him- this was taken last month

this was taken a week ago, the big sister was helping her little brother opening his post birthday presents from his Aunt (hubby’s sister)
I love having the two kids. My daughter really loves her baby brother. Despite of their age differences, they get along so well. They giggle, they chase one another, they played hide and seek and they just have so much fun having each other. Two is definitely better than one! Double trouble, double the fun! :)

and, the person who brought them in this beautiful world, their mommy/mama :)

A Date on Sunday

My family have not seen my baby boy on a web camera or in personal. My mom really wants to see him. I sent photos of our baby but mom wants to see him online. We already agreed the time and day to chat. This coming Sunday I will be chatting to my family.

I cannot wait to see them. Too bad as they have to go to the net cafe to use a computer. Our desk top was ruined by a typhoon that until now has not been replaced yet. How I wish I could help them to buy a new computer so that they do not need to go to the net cafe to chat with us. Though, net cafe is not that far from where we live but the comfort of using the computer in your own home has a big difference.

Easter Egg Hunting

As a mother I want all the best thing for my kids. I remembered a year ago when I received an invitation in the mail about the community Easter Egg Hunting which I ignored at that time because my daughter was still little. I knew that she would not enjoy the said event.

This year, I was expecting to receive an invitation in the mail again but unfortunately there was none. Easter Sunday is approaching and I heard people talking about Easter Egg Hunting and how fun it was. I search online and found some places. One place was a bit far from where we live but it is  a big event with ages from 2 - 9 years old.

I told my husband about it, and he does not want to go because it was far. I insisted for us to go, for our daughter's sake. I want her to be expose, interact and be with a big event. At the end, he agreed. We went to the said place and oh, what a fun! There were so many people and kids. Our daughter was so happy. Plus she got a chanced of posing with the Bunny Mascot. Her basket was half way full of eggs. She did really good.

Being Goofy!!!

I like when I have my Doctor's appointment not because I want to see the Doctor but what I like about it is our family bonding time. The whole family goes to my Doctor appointment (husband and daughter)- this is what had happened the lasts time. Our daughter was very good of not crying or throwing tantrum while waiting for my name to be called instead she would find a way to entertain herself by reading magazines, greeting other kids and this one she was making fun of her face! Showing Mommy and Daddy how goofy she is.

Family Portrait

We went to Harrisburg to celebrate a late Thanksgiving with my husband's family. One of his sister brought her camera because she wants to take a picture for each family. Our daughter is 4 year old and I do not know why she was really being silly at that time. I guess, she was being influence by her 8 year old  cousin. It was our family turn to have the picture taken but instead of smiling for camera she would pretend and create a sound of a dog. I bet the picture would not be as good as it is expected.

Taking my grandkids to see Sister Act on Broadway

Guest post written by Jennifer Cole

I really love being a grandma because I can spoil all my grandkids and spend a lot of fun time with them. Besides, that's what grandparents are for! I took my two grandkids on a trip to New York City the other weekend and we've been planning for this for a really long time. They've been so excited for it too and I've been spending a whole lot of time planning it.

When I was online looking up some information on which play we should go and see, I ran across the site www.searshearing.com. I looked through it a little bit I decided to go in for a hearing test and a hearing aid fitting.

We went and saw Sister Act on Broadway. It was such a fun play for us to go and see! Plus, I didn't have to worry about too many innuendos that my grandkids might pick up on. That's always something that you have to be careful about when it comes to Broadway. That's come to bit me in the past.

Getting Your Life Insurance Quotes

Life insurance is very important. If you care for your family's future, you must secure a life insurance. We do have our own life insurance. A family package type. It is for our own future, for our own good. Every family must have it. Thinking for the future is the best thing to do.

It is not cheap to buy insurances. Fortunately, I found the place that offers affordable insurances with different coverage plans. You can choose family insurance for the whole family which is very important. Getting family insurance is the best way to secure family’s future. I am fortunate enough that my husband chose this kind of coverage for us.

Research and browsing for insurance is what everyone should do first to gather the best information about insurances. Getting free quote is the smartest way to compare terms and prices of different insurance companies. In this tough economy that we are in, we have to be a smart shopper and I prefer to shop to an insurance companies that offer free quotes. So, why not check this insurance place and get more valuable information regarding your preferred insurance plan.

Camping Out

Yesterday, the family decided to had a camp out just in our own yard. My husband made a fire. Our daughter help her daddy to look for sticks and woods. It all started from marshmallows and I decided to get some hotdogs plus some pork.

We had the fun cooking all the foods we had. We started before five in the afternoon and we were done around eight o'clock. We did not eat anything for dinner as we were all stuffed up. It was really a great time for us as a family. Little, simple thing but means a so much. Our daughter really had the fun doing her own marshmallows.

Family Time

Guest post written by my buddy Brian Workman

My family loves watching TV together and there are some shows that can get everyone to the table. We recently got SatellitetvFamily at home and we've got more channels now than ever but I tell you what, we still watch some of the game shows on basic cable more than anything else! For example, Jeopardy is really big here since my kids are really smart and like to compete with each other on all the questions.

I also really like for us to watch the news together as a family so we can discuss what's going on my kids are only young teenagers so I want them to come to me with any questions they might have about what's going on in the world. I guess to anyone who says TV isn't good for kids I would tell them to come to my house and watch how interactive it makes family dinners. You couldn't pull us away from the set if you tried and in my opinion, for us that's a really good thing!

What A Messy Room

Our daughter is four years old and she likes to buy and collect toys as like any other kid. As a parents, we buy her toys. We want her to be happy. Toys makes a kid happy. Anyway, it was not only us who buy her toys. She would received toys as a gift from her Aunties and other family members.

She needs a bigger bedroom to accommodate all her toys. She likes to play. I let her play all day long. Toys are everywhere. I clean every late afternoon as it is the best time to clean for me. I am teaching her to be responsible. I asked her to clean up her mess. Gather her toys and put them away where they belong. She refused.

I got irritated. Explaining to here over and over again. I told her why she has to clean up her own mess. She was very hard headed at that time. I told her that she was a bad girl because she does not know how to follow mommy's order. I was surprised to her reply. She told me that she was not a bad girl, she only does not want to clean up. What a brainer! She is really smart as she is getting bigger.

My husband is mowing the lawn taking advantage of a beautiful warm day I hope that there is no rain today as my husband missed watching the early news this morning but so far the sun is out and brightly shining.

Air Conditioner Is Back On

Yesterday, the temperature was in 80 degrees both inside and outside the house. My husband came home from work, and he was hot. He would prefer winter over summer because he could not stand of a hot days and nights. Moving to Philippines will be a great challenge. There is Air Conditioner but it will only be in the house but outside it is all year sunny.

He decided to turned the Air Conditioner on yesterday as he was sweating and even our daughter. They both could not stand to a temperature likes that. He did the cleaning, vacuuming and everything. He also put an electric fan in our bedroom and to our daughter's bedroom so that we could sleep well at nights. The temperature here in the house is cool and not too cold. Lasts night, we all slept well and woke up all in good mood. So thankful that Air Conditioner has been invented. I could live without Air Conditioner but not my husband and my daughter.

Work Boots Shoes

It was Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. when I thought that my husband arrived from Midas for his Mazda pick up truck inspection. I heard something that was pulling in our driveway, stopped, parked and open the driver's door. It was time for my husband to be home as he told me that pick up truck inspection will take 30 minutes to one hour and it was already over a hour.

Five minutes later, he was still not knocking on our door and I was getting pissed as we are going to Walmart for our grocery shopping. Pissed off in a way that what was taking him so long to get in the house. I decided to grabbed my purse and we went outside to check what he was doing. To my surprised I saw a box of Work Boots placed in our back porch. I thought my husband went to shoe store to buy a pair of Work Boots. There was a paper on top of the shoe box and it say's Merry Christmas. I was puzzled. Look around and did not see my husband's Mazda's pick up truck. Smelled strong tobaccos, it was really weird and even our daughter smelled it.

This time, i was no longer pissed but I was kind of worried. Three minutes later, my husband arrived and was smiling I told him about the shoes, the pair of work boots and he said he was aware about the shoes as he saw his best buddy on the road they stopped and his buddy told him about the shoes but it was not specific what kind of shoes. My husband thought shoes for our daughter.

The funny thing was that the work boots was size ten and a half while my husband wear size 11 and my husband could not wear them. His buddy called him and they talked about the work boots and they both decided to give it to other friend who wear the said size. They are cute and they had been best friend for a very long time and still get along so well.

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now. A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.

When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. We must do something about father, said the son. I have had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, What are you making? Just as sweetly, the boy responded, Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. On a positive note, I have learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I have learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: A rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I have learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a life. I have learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I have learned that you should not go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes. I have learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you but, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I have learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I have learned that even when I have pains, I do not have to be one. I have learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch~ holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I have learned that I still have a lot to learn.

Mothers Day Gift

Sunday, May 8th is Mother's Day a special day fro all mothers all over the world. The day where all mothers can get their break from cooking, doing household chores and taking care of the children. Mother's Day only come across once a year I knew that even father's day and other occasion only celebrated once a year. That why, each celebration is important and special. Ho w are you going to celebrate the mother's day? On my part, i have no idea if there is any celebration coming my way. I am not expecting too much about it. It is all up to my husband. It will be good to receive something special like a mother's day gift on the said occasion but i am not thinking about it so that if there is a mother's gift for me then that is special and that will makes me happier.

My  mother is not here and i would love to buy her something special on mother's day but she is half way around the world she lives in Philippines. The easiest thing i can do is to give her a call on Sunday she would love it more. I saw many interesting gifts for mother's day both physical stores and on the internet. I love the different styles, designs and colors of flowers the bouquet. They are expensive and they will not last long. For husbands and children out there who thinks of getting something for their mothers and wives you better start looking now for that special gifts. Browse online for your own convenient or if you love shopping to the mall you will see more.  I love mother's day I have been a mother for four years now though the husband, the kids and the household chores drive you crazy all the time but at the end of the day i am thankful and happy that i have my family with me.

Easter Bunny Candies

I was not expected from my husband to be home early yesterday. Glad i was quick and did turned the computer off before he knocks on the door. I knew he does not get mad of me being on the computer but for sure he would be surprised if he will see me still using the computer evens late in the afternoon. My husband knows i have the whole day access to our computer since i am a stay at home mom.

He came home and after five minutes he told our daughter to take a nap. I replied, and said it is not good for her to take her nap late in the afternoon. So, he revealed his secret and said he could not sneak out the candies in our house because our daughter is awake and the Easter bunny candies are waiting in the car. Too bad, no choice but to let those Easter bunny candies sleep over night in the car.

Then, there was a TV commercial featuring about Easter bunny candies, different flavors and shapes. Our daughter saw them and said, Daddy can i have some Easter bunny candies? My husband answered, yes honey! Easter bunny will come tomorrow which is Saturday at night to give you the Easter bunny candies. So our girl was very happy.

Later, she was being a kid. She was being bad doing things her way. Did not listened to her Mommy and Daddy. So, we told her that if she does not want to listened to her parents then Easter bunny will not come to give her candies. She walked away from us, went to the kitchen all be herself and was so quiet. She was emoting. It happened three times last night. My husband came to her carried and kissed her and i did too at some other time. Our daughter will be turning four soon and she is getting so sensitive.
